Don't Call Me ishmael
Recently, in my English,we read the novel Don't Call Me Ishmael by Michael Gerard Bauer. The novel tells the story of Ishmael Leseur as he travels through Year 9. He has to deal with bullies, girls and the dreaded debating team. The novel starts off explaining how Ishmael got his name, which is a very funny story but I won't ruin it. He then explains how Barry Bagsley, the school bully, is out to get him and he some how has bad luck to do with his name. The story is very descriptive and pulls you through Ishmael's year. A new kid comes to school and stands up to Barry but is there a underlying reason? The book is very funny and appealing to all ages and I am sure we have all felt the same as Ishmael at least once in our life. There are another 2 novels in the series which tells about Ishmael's later years at school. The novel is a very enjoyable read that you shouldn't miss
